Maria joined Sir Magdi in 2008 to support the establishment of the Aswan Heart Centre. Following her time at the Aswan Heart Centre, Maria assisted Sir Magdi establish the Qatar Cardiovascular Research Centre in Doha, building an active research institute of 38 scientists. In 2015 she moved to Sir Magdi’s International Head Office at Harefield Hospital UK where she manages the Administrative areas for the Institute and fulfils a variety of operational support, negotiation and coordinating roles for projects relating to Sir Magdi’s UK and global commitments. Prior to joining the charity Maria performed roles in both the private and public sector in human resources, event management, branding and organisational logistics.
